Can you improve performance and fuel economy of the 2005 duramax by adding a more open, "flow through" muffler? Can the calalytic converter be removed without voiding warranty or adversely affecting truck?

First off, welcome to the Place!! Pretty much everything about these trucks has been discussed at one time or another.



Look in "Fuel System, Air, & Exhaust Upgrades". Do a search on exhaust. You have Magnaflow, MBRP, Banks, etc for aftermarket 4 and 5 inch setups, both single and dual. Or you can cut out the stock muffler and add a straight muffler, or even just a piece of pipe and do a straight-thru.
