I am looking for recommendations on premium brand fifth wheels to fit inside standard bed length 2009 2500hd crew cab p/u - Duramax engine.
Will purchase 35 ft fifth wheel trailer later.
- Suggestions on manufInstalled, Installers etc.

Tom, you should really direct this enquiry through the forums at www.rv.net. I suggest that you select the 5th wheel forum, here:

I have a pull rite Super fifth. Works great and when you take the hitch out of the bed all that you have remaining is four holes, no rails sticking up. It is also an automatic locking latch, so you wont fold your bed rails if you were to forget to lock it.

Looks like we're into discussing fifth wheels, so I'll just say that for a heavy trailer the Curt Q5 has a TEN YEAR warranty, and grease zerks for the bearing surfaces. I went through two Reese 20k hitches, which became clunky and sloppy, before I got the Curt. It's first class.

go with the b&w + companion. It's built well and removes for a totally flat bed floor

Since you're interested in a premium hitch, let me recommend the Reese Signature series. I've pulled a 17k fiver over 40,000miles with mine and it's still as solid as it was on day one.

I just started towing my new 34 foot fiver with this same hitch. I'm real happy with it.

Hitchhiker or Excel. Not Carriage. HH and Excel, while definately not perfect have excellent customer service. The factories seem to bend over backwards for you.

X3. Good heavy duty hitch. Solid! Quiet. The head also removes so you can remove it from the truck bed in 2 pieces versus 1. At the time when I purchased almost 3 years ago, the Curt Q5 with slider was acutally cheaper than lower weight rating Reese with slider.

I've got to second the B&W and 5th wheel companion. Works great for me. A little extra money but for someone who needs to pull both a goose neck and a 5th wheel it can't be beat.

Standard 6.5 bed?

Pullrite Superglide -automatic sliding hitch -no fuss -no worries but it ain't cheap or light weight.

With the B&W hitch you get the best of both worlds. A 30,000 lb. goose neck hitch and an extremely solid fifth wheel hitch that can be removed for a totally flat bed. B&W hitches are also noise free because the platform rides on rubber which also helps with motion transfer to the truck.

What is the model # of your Trail-Air pin box? Mine doesn't look anything like that and I couldn't find yours on Air-Ride's site.

Never mind. I found it. It has nothing to do with air, even though it says Air-Ride. It has a rubber bushing running from side to side around a square shaft pivot.

In my experience pulling 5th wheels, whenever you use air it can make pulling a lot better experience.(hitch)-AIR-SAFE 25k omny directional hitch,it has a binckley head with massive jaws,4-air bags one on each corner and 2 shocks and will move in any direction. In my opinion the best. Also if you have your mind set on a hitch already, look at getting it for your trailer. The Trail-Air king pin box has an air bag with a shock that you inflate.its not a rubber bushing like previously stated.check out my garage for photos of hitch.
