couple weeks ago i went to start up my truck and she started fine... then it died. i popped the hood and saw smoke coming from the wires attached to the IP. now the truck gets no power at all.

havent had time to look at it. been driving around my back up toyota truck.

Where to start? bad ground?

i did check all the fuses, they are fine...

Explain "no power". You turn the key and nothing? No starter, no dash lights, nothing?

A total dead-blackout usually means fusible links have fried. All power runs from the batteries, to the starter connection and then on to distribution blocks, the alternator etc. Grab your test light and start probing...but make sure those IP wires (fuel shut-off, cold advance and idle speed) are not shorting out to ground first.

Get a meter and pop the hood and find where there is no power and go back towards the starter or battery until there is power. The starter has a fusible link that is typically the failure area. Look for a cylinder shape on the wires.
