: Denali 3500HD on it's way!
Pwdr Extreme 07-11-2010, 01:04 PM I just ordered a 2011 3500HD DRW Crewcab Denali. The dealer doesn't have pricing for it yet, but they are able to order it. I went with everything available but the rear entertainment. Heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, power rear slider, sunroof, navigation...
I drove a 2011 2500HD Duramax, pretty impressed! Went on about a 30 mile loop, DIC said 18.6mpg, noticeably more power and the exhaust brake was awesome. I pulled off the interstate onto a downhill exit ramp at about 50mph (road construction) in tow haul mode, and the dang exhaust brake almost brought us to a stop halfway down the ramp! (~5mph) The salesman and I were both shocked and impressed. Works quite a bit better than the factory exhaust in my '10 Dodge.
This is going to be a LONG 10 - 12 weeks!

I ordered my truck in May and I just got ballpark pricing... It was supposed to be built and I haven't received final pricing yet... Not like it's gonna make a difference - I want the truck... I know about what I am gonna pay but people shouldn't look at toys they can't afford to keep in their toy box... :)
Pwdr Extreme 07-11-2010, 10:58 PM Lol @ responses! I ordered it from Dave Smith Motors, bought several rigs from them, always fair up front pricing. They show you the invoice, their holdback, incentives, etc. So I feel pretty good about it. =)
new duramax's are not for the cheap....if a grand or 3 either way is the difference, then you prolly should look at something else.....Congrats on the new truck!!
trwtow 07-12-2010, 06:10 PM cool cant wait for pics i also found out about no pricing yet. enjoy the wait and congrats
dmax9 07-12-2010, 06:25 PM That would be the rig I would order if I could, cant wait to see what a 3500 denali looks like, ive only seen pics of the 2500 denali
Pwdr Extreme 07-12-2010, 09:14 PM Thanks guys! I'll post pics when I get it.

LETHAL WEAPON 07-13-2010, 10:34 AM THe price you pay for that truck at least GM could have put some decent wheels on the truck instead of f***ing HUB CAPS:rolleyes:

I think that is kind of like the saying, "if you have to ask then you can't afford it".:D
j4nash 07-14-2010, 06:41 PM a denali Dmax would be sweet to own
db9938 07-14-2010, 10:54 PM Although, I am glad that they are finally bringing one to the HD market, I am still puzzled as to why they left so much out of what a Denali is.
Things that you can have as "accessories," such as, door sill plates, chrome exhaust tip, wheels, nav, xm traffic, heated/cooled seats, chrome front tow hooks, and chromed door handles. I mean what's the Denali have that the SLT doesn't. I mean if you look at the trim specific list of features, the only thing that my '05 SLT did not come with homelink, power adjustable pedals, and the bluetooth.
I am sorry, I think that the Denali badge, is just not worth the extra coin. Am I missing something?
thmsfraz 07-14-2010, 11:31 PM My dealer has a loaded ltz 3500 and it is stickered at 60 grand:eek: so you know the denali is going to be several grand more than that.

I built one for giggles and grins and it topped out at 64K.
60g is good..would love to see that here.....we have '10s that have stickers of 75g...

you hit the nail on the head. the king ranch is probably the only reason lots of guys pick ford over dodge or gm,,,
duramaxxin 07-14-2010, 11:56 PM What dealership did you test drive it at, im in belgrade MT and danhof chevy on has a 11 gasser
pa32rt 07-15-2010, 01:07 AM OK. LOVE the truck.
But, the hood piece, mirrors and chin spoiler HAVE to be painted.

Dave Smith in Kellogg, ID. Billions said they won't have one till mid august at the soonest and looked at me like I had corn cobs coming out of my ears when I said Denali Duramax. Rimrock in Billings should have one next week.
I'm actually living out in Belgrade now as well. =)

Ive seen a few 4500s that were a "cinch" version, kinda a western theme with cowhide seats and stuff, not sure if it was factory or not, they probably just let cinch do it on their own. I think they should do something like that to compete with the king ranch

DURAtotheMAX 08-18-2010, 09:20 PM The denali isnt *that* much more expensive. It probably works out to be like 1,500 more than an LTZ/SLT. For that 1500 you get seats that have more leather (the LTZ/SLT seats have vinyl around the bottom bolster and on the head rests, the LTZ/SLT trucks have leather "seating surfaces"; ie, everything your body/butt/back touches is leather, the rest of the seat is vinyl), sill plates, chrome, different grille, bumper, wheels, trim, nicer steering wheel, nicer shifter, nicer center console, different instrument cluster, and a 5.1 surround sound Bose luxury stereo with a center-channel speaker in the upper dashboard.
I really dont think the denali "package" rips you off. All the little things add up when you think about it... ;)

Glamis44 08-18-2010, 09:39 PM This is where Chevrolet Screws it up. The LTZ should be the same as the Denali. I prefer the Chevrolet over the GMC, but would like the 5.1 and the Cooled Seats.
Pwdr Extreme 08-18-2010, 09:43 PM My Truck was built yesterday, now I have to wait 2-3 weeks for them to deliver it to the dealer. Sigh... And I still don't know the price.

Pricing was released to dealers on August 9th, at least on the 3500SRW I ordered.

bobbss 08-18-2010, 11:20 PM Chevy needs to come up with their own packages, something that sounds tougher than Denali.Maybe something likeThe "Rock" Package,as in solid as a "rock",for a more rugged off road style package.Maybe The "Bowtie" Package,as in Chevy Bowtie, for a more sporty, luxury package.

Don't take this too rough but I for one am glad you don't work in Chevy's marketing department. Silverado is pretty cool, Denali is too but how cool really is "King Ranch". What about a Ford Raptor, that is kind of queer too. While we are at it how does this sound a Chevy "Yellowstone". Not 100% sure about this but the Sierra and Silverado came around the "America" theme in GM's marketing.

I guess I was really thinking of them as more of a trim like LTZ.I wasn't thinking of changing from the Silverado name.As for the names,I just threw them out for examples,so what would you consider a good name then?
whtALLIMAX 08-19-2010, 01:30 AM I agree with the one poster that said they should let cinch come out with their edition in the HDs like they had done in that medium duty. I thought that was pretty slick.

3500 SRW Denali????
BDDiesel 08-19-2010, 03:17 AM Denali? GMC should come out with a version called the "General" and badge it in such a way that GMC is in the badge. Make it an all out version of a work truck or Luxury laiden beast and a 5 star addition to the badge. :rank: :cool_shad

Yeah Im sure all the veterans would like that.
bobbss 08-19-2010, 11:28 AM If I was going to name a truck after a park it wouldn't be Yellowstone,as great of a park as it is,it would sound like a rock that someone pissed on.I would probably use Grand Teton or maybe Glacier (unstoppable force). As for King Ranch,it seems to be working well for Ford,I see alot of them on the road.
DURAtotheMAX 08-19-2010, 11:54 AM If only everyone knew what kind of vehicle the majority of the vehicles used on the real King Ranch was throughout the 60's and 70's....
(hint: it wasnt the ford super duty)

Going to have to use Google. I never even knew it was a Ford original
edit: Google's not being my friend...what was it?

Well the way you say it,my first guess would be a GM,but if not maybe a Jeep or Ford Bronco?
Road Boss 08-19-2010, 02:11 PM That Denali 3500 is the business! Makes me want to trade in my 03 for it.:p:
DURAtotheMAX 08-19-2010, 02:42 PM old VW Beetles, believe it or not...
They had good traction offroad, simple to maintain/fix, air-cooled (over-heating in the hot weather? Leaky radiators? Worrying about anti-freeze? NOPE) and great ground clearance if you throw some bigger tires on them and hack the fenders.
Not to mention if you have ever looked underneath one, the entire under belly is just one big flat skid plate; there are no cross members or axles or things hanging down to get stuck on.

semperfidoordie 08-19-2010, 02:47 PM badass....I forgot about your Bug affinity Ben..should've guessed. That's a neat piece of trivia knowledge though
