Does anyone have the 80hp chip from SSdiesel? I cant get them to respond to my email. I have the chip and was wondering if it allows for deletion of the EGR valve without flashing the SES. Anybody know?

Did you use the web form, or an email ? My understanding is they go two different 'directions'. Tech questions go directly to Walt, emails get bounced around a bit

Unless you asked for an F prom for your '94, it's probably an S prom.

I imagine thats caused some people some problems don't you QM?

There's several possible variations there.

'94 'S', which is what he had originally.

'94 'F', which is the HD but its also for a 5068 pump.

and '95, 'F' which is the HD program that uses the pump he already has.

True, and no one can cross reference which PROM is an upgrade for which year/model IP, at least when I tried.

Same here, course I have trouble ordering anything from our local dealership...I mean ANYTHING!

I ordered a set of rocker arms for a 6.5 for a customer's truck, they sent me a bag of bolts!

I spent a good 20 minutes on the phone arguing with some poor kid that there was such a thing as a BARO sensor.

Ok guys, Walt emailed me back about my questions on modifying my vehicle for off-road use and said:

Hey Joe,

No, the chip has no control over EGR functions. That is permanently burned into the PCM. The chip only has control over tuning functions.

That's not bad. I guess walt's not an EGR fan either.

Of course I'm sure Walt is recommending that for off road use vehicles, as bypassing how to do that to a on road daily driver & posting his business contact info could maybe get him an unwanted visit from curious fellows from the guvmint. Not saying folks do puruse sites, but you never know, just be judicious guys when you source someone for info; that you make sure that by listing them as a source you don't put someone in an awkward position, PM probably best way to handle some things.
