I did my first trip the truck did :Dk. but was slow like you guys told me she would be. The first trailer was a 28ft 5th wheel it was heavy for the truck an had alota wind drag but i made it to Oregan from riverside California then had a bak haul wit an 18ft travel trailer the truck had an easier time but still slow up the hills. Nway but know i have a leak on my brake hydro boost. on the gold round thing i was wondering if i could just tightin it or replace the whole thing? And were can i find the a/c bracket for the 6.2 they are rare at the junk yards in my area? Thanks for all the help guys

Sounds like a lot of strain on that motor and tranny.
How much did they weigh?

ya it was alota strain on everything. i think the 5th wheel was about 10k. im sure thats way to much for that old truck. Do you know anythinkg about the hydro brake system? mine just started leaking only when the motor is off, an its only leaking from the gold cylinder thing. Do i need to replace the whole system or just the gold thing

All I know is mine was replaced just before I bought the truck and the guy told me it cost him $300. Not sure if they can be rebuilt or not.

Glad you made out on well on your trip.
I had to change my hydroboost on my 83, but it was leaking from the main shaft through the weep hole down the firewall. The one I got is a rebuilt, but I am not sure if there are DIY kits out there for them. As far as I know that canister you are referring to is a pressure reservoir, so if you lose your power steering pump, you will still have power breaks for at least one application.
Likely something you should address, as if it starts to leak really badly, you may loose your power steering fluid.
