ok fellas i know this has been asked alot of times on many different forums but i cant seem to find something that answers my situation. im really hoping someone comes through and helps me on this. saturday im competeing in the local truck (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/#) pull at the fair. ive competed once a while back with a different truck, but it was a 84 dodge, lifted, 318 3.23 gears. needless to say it was just for fun. which this time is too but id like to actually move the sled. ive read about lowering the torsion bars, but my question is what gear to pull in. my situation is a little different cause i have the granny gear 6.32 to 1. most every forum ive read is for a highly modded truck with a typical trans. this is the truck in my sig and my DD. other than a turbo master and #9 resistor the truck is stock. im running 4.10 gears so i can make one he^& of a low gear with the granny, 2.72 low range and 4.10s. so can somebody give me some advice on what gear to pull with?

4 low, 3rd gear....wind her up and build some boost and let her go! Forget granny....you need wheel speed!

thats kind of what i was thinking but wasnt sure. i was playing with starting out in different gears this morning on my way to work with the tcase in low. third in the trans felt ok and second felt too low. this is my first time pulling with a truck that can actually tow more than my fat a$$ so its got me pumped up. thanks for the reply i really appreciate it

My 93 slipped the clutch like hell in 3rd gear low. It did not like it AT ALL. 2nd gear low was to low and the thing would just wind right up and build little boost and wheel speed. The truck pulled its best in 4 hi granny gear. That was a 3.73 geared truck with 305/70/16s

3rd low would give me a final drive of 19.06 to one, granny high would be 25.9 to one, and 2nd low would be 38.4 to one. 2nd low i think would be too much. with the granny high option im pretty sure id just be running red line down the track. if i coul get the whole messing moving pretty good with 3rd low i think i might have a decent chance

I think your probably right, your truck being 4.11 vs mine was a 3.73 Just gonna have to try it. Dont slip that clutch to much or youll lose your feet and maybe more.
