The front wipers stopped no warning or nothing and yes it raining going to for the next 2 or 3 days here man I love south east Texas. Here's what I've done: checked the fuses all good, and replaced the pulse board still don't work. The rear wiper works fine, just the front ones don't work. I've done some seaching on replacing the wiper motor (BTW it's the original one 11 yr old) but I'm confused on how to remove it. Here's what I found.

#1 "You remove the drivers'side arm, loosen the three sheetmetal screws holding the motor to the fire wall unplug it and it comes right off. Put a new one on and no more problems."
OK easy enough.

Then found

#2 "I remembered that you pull the wiper toward you and there's a bolt holding it to the wiper assembly on a short arm. You don't have to remove the arms you sweep them forward like your starting to clean the windsheild because you have to let them rotate to get that motor out and when you put the new one back make sure you're at the right spot in the rotation or your wipers will sit too high while at rest. I remembered it's a little difficult to get it free and get it back just right."

Which one do you do to remove the wiper motor #1 or #2? I have a new wiper motor in truck and want to replace before leave to go home tonight. It really ******* sucks driving in the rain with no wipers or stopping all time waiting for the rain to light'n up so I can see. A 30 to 40 minute drive as turned into a 1-1/2 to 2 hr drive.:help: Thanks for the help.

Hi!
Had same problem on my truck. Don't really know what your Blazer looks like, but on my pickup I removed the arms by pulling on the little clip that holds them to their respective axle, then I removed the ventilation "grille" to access the motor. But I really wrote to say that I bet it's a soldering on the circuitboard inside the motor that has let go after years of vibrating. I just soldered things back together on mine and it's still working after a couple of years!

there is a recall on the wiper motor control board. Some solder joints will break, stoppint the wipers. The recall will replace the board for free. Usually the wiper motor is ok.

Or, if you are handy with a soldering iron, simply remove the board (its in the large black plastic casing on the motor, and resolder the board connectors. A 10 minute fix at most

Check to make sure motor is grounded.

Hi there. Have your VIN checked. I know that my '95 Tahoe has a wiper motor recall which is still being honored. Perhaps your VIN is also included.

Sincerely,

Rob :)

Last night I bought a new board and tried that with no luck. That's why I bought the new motor after I took the board back, then tried the board that comes with the new motor to double check that the 1st one wasn't bad. I have replace the board in the past and fixed the problem. Normaly the wipers would slow down, or stop half way when the board would go out. This time none of that happened. They just stopped not really stopped in motion but never came on. I used a test light to make sure I was getting power to the motor which I am. I can't even hear the motor trying to run, or vibrating like it trying to run. Is there another board inside the motor or just the one that has the wiring harness plug attached to it (the one under the cover with the 3 screws that holds the cover on)? Thank you all for the fast replies!!! I'll check the gound again but I stuck a paperclip in the wire harness to use it a gound when I tested for power in the harness. Good way to check power and ground at the same time.

Called my buddy at the dealer and had the ZIN check checked. No wiper motor but the brake light switch is under a recall. Bad news is I replaced that 2yr ago. Oh well.

Cant offer any ideas on the wipers...but in the interm, if its still raining, get some Rain-X, or Rain Away.you apply this to the windshield and at speeds above 30MPH you will NOT have to turn the wipers on the water beads off instantly and you can see beautifly!!

RainX is great stuff. Too good sometimes . . . 'cause you'll start hydroplaning from seeing too well in bad downpours.
