: Another 10" Cognito lift...Thanks Norcal Truck
ludeboy57 07-07-2010, 10:29 PM I want to thank Nick @ Norcal for talking me into the 10"-12" Cognito kit..And thank you Andrea for all you did as well!!...Glad I went with the 10" kit because I have already pulled up next to the guy with the 6" lift and 35" tires at a light...(not that there is anything wrong with a 6" lift)...It took a while to install this...worked mostly a couple hours at a time...But with the help of my GF's brother we did it and it looks Amazing...I will have more pics soon...Too Damn hot in Northern New York now....Thanks Everyone!!!
ludeboy57 07-07-2010, 10:35 PM I hope these pics are a little better...Sorry

Sledheadxp800r 07-07-2010, 11:05 PM What kind of headlights do you have or did you just tint them?
ludeboy57 07-07-2010, 11:14 PM What kind of headlights do you have or did you just tint them?
Their 8k HID's just have the headlight covers on....I have projector headlights sitting here....but don't know if i wanna put them on...kinda like the black-out covers...idk
Sledheadxp800r 07-07-2010, 11:19 PM The covers look sweet on there. All the projectors I've seen have thoes BMW angle eye halo things in them. I'm not a fan of thoes.
cainer70 07-07-2010, 11:57 PM nice truck! And those white mirrors really put a nice touch with the lift painted white
nik640 07-08-2010, 03:32 AM Truck looks sick and an at home install even better, good job. If I were you I'd stick with the 8k HIDs. I had the projectors with halos for a couple years and just replaced them with my factory housings and 6k HIDs. Couldn't see shit with the projectors, had them for so long because there's street lights everywhere where I live, but get out on the road where there wasn't any and they're terrible, my fog lights were brighter. Anyway just my .02 worth I'm done with my rant now.
Trucstop 07-08-2010, 08:21 AM Very nice. wish i could do a lift. Police Vehicle Inspection guys don't like lifted trucks.

Well shoot I didn't even know there was a club...Thanks...lmao...I see you have 4.56 gears...Do you or anyone else suggest getting a new ratio?...I tow a race car sometimes, and do other towing as well....Well I ain't towing anything until I get a new hitch...BUT...I will have one...lol

i tow and haul a LOT. i cannot imagine not having 4.56's. they are a must. with 37's and towing you need 4.56's also.

what did the new gearing do to your fuel milage? I'm running the with the 7" bds lift on 35's.......not sure if I need to re-gear but I'd consider it if the benifits out-weighed the negatives

Its just a lil much with 4.56..I would go with 4.10..Its a diesel it is geared pretty low already..Whats your RMP @ 70MPH?
Chevy1925 07-09-2010, 01:42 PM Well shoot I didn't even know there was a club...Thanks...lmao...I see you have 4.56 gears...Do you or anyone else suggest getting a new ratio?...I tow a race car sometimes, and do other towing as well....Well I ain't towing anything until I get a new hitch...BUT...I will have one...lol

you dont HAVE to have 4.56s to tow heavy with 37s. ive towed heavy (10-20k) on 37s for the last three years and with the little tow tune i have it can cruise up 6% hills in 110 degree heat at 60-65 with ease. Now granted with 4.56s you will get better fuel milage, lower your egts while towing, and probably pull hills a little better but its not absolutly necessary. its up to you and your budget if you wanna do 4.56s or not. i will be making the switch here in a few months ;)
Warlock1 07-09-2010, 01:46 PM Nicely done, almost looks like we have twin trucks:cool: I am going to have to paint the front cross member now as I really like the look of that. I almost had my entire kit powder coated, but didn't. Now I wish I would've.
Can you post some oics of your stereo setup? Thats the next thing I want to tackle.
Oh yeah I definitly recommend the 4.56's makes a huge difference.
