I have the blows stereo and i was wondering if I would run into any problems installing and avic-d1, I want to keep the speakers. What is the impedence of the bose speakers and would i be able to keep the xm receiver with the avic or would i need a pioneer unit. Im guessing i would loose the steering wheel controls too?
Thanks

Nope, you'll be fine. The Bose system has its own amplifier so it will accept any LOW-LEVEL (RCA red and white plugs) input. Just DONT attach it to the "speaker output" on the AVIC-D1!! Attach it to the Pre-outs. You can get a PAC AOEM-GM24 adapter to turn the head unit plug into RCA plugs so then you will be able to plug the AVIC-D1 right in with RCA wires. You can get it for about 40 dollars from ebay.

Sorry forgot about your other question...nope, there is no way to keep the XM reciever. Its all controlled by Class II data from the stock head unit. I mean I suppose you could keep the stock head unit under the rear seat or something and then keep the XM reicever plugged in and run the audio outs to the inputs on the AVIC-D1 but thats really more trouble than its worth...
