I am simply wanting to service my trans. It is an 2006 dmax 6 speed auto, NAPA is telling me that there is two different inner filters that they sell for my application. One of them is for a "shallow pan (at its deepest point is 3 1/4") and one for a "deep pan (at its deepest point is 4 1/4)." The dealer said all of the stock duramax's have the same pan lol imagine that. I do not have an allison dealer here so i gotta get it from NAPA does anyone maybe have a part number or advice? Also, i was wondering what the torque specs on those tansmission oil pan bolts are?

If your truck is stock then you have the shallow pan as ALL GM pickup trucks only come with that. Noty sure on a part number but you might want to look at the price for an Allison deep pan and filter setup from the vendors here and compare that to what NAPA wants for a filter. The larger pan gets you about 3 1/2 more quarts capacity on th efluid which helps the unit stay cooler for a longer time frame and extend the change intervals. Allison only uses the deep pan in all other applications.

Thanks a lot for your help, I thought that the deep pan was only an aftermarket option, I didn't think that came stock but was not forsure. I will definelty do that upgrade when I put another lift pump in. Thanks again!!

Stock pan for pickups is the shallow one, but you don't really need to change it unless you've had somehting go wrong or severely neglected the maintenance.

Just change the spin-on and clean and replace the magnet underneath it. Drain and refill the pan (7-8 quarts) with a quality DEX3 TES-389 or preferred a TES-295 synthetic ATF.
