gibby 07-14-2005, 09:07 PM I just put some new tires n wheels on my new truck and I am thinking about a 4" Rancho Suspension lift, any thoughts? I am trying to get a tuffer look out of the truck, but it is my daily driver and I don't want to get too crazy.
ssduramax 07-14-2005, 09:12 PM good lookin truck Gibby

BullydogPowered 07-14-2005, 09:15 PM i think a 4" lift would look great on your truck. probably be perfect for a daily driver. Rancho is good Fabtech also makes a good looking lift.
gibby 07-14-2005, 09:22 PM SS, I am from Shelby Twp., MI and have a brother, Mark, stationed in 29 Palms with the USMC back in 91.

Go with a 6"... why be a puss? Looking forward to putting a whoopin' on your ass in the sand now that you got your new shoes. :ro)
WhippledHD 07-15-2005, 10:35 AM Rancho 4" is a great solid lift and want give you any problems as a daily driver. 6" is better but a little tall with out some other mods. Great looking truck.

I'm curious now, what other mods are needed if he goes with a 6 rather than a 4? I've ALWAYS owned chevy's until now. The ONLY 4" lift I ever had I ended up tearing off and doing it RIGHT with a 6.
BansheeBruce 07-15-2005, 04:41 PM Hey Gibby,
Did you crank the t-bars at all and did you have to do lots of triming to get those to fit?

I cranked up the t-bars as far as I could and cut at the bumper trim and the inner wheel well.
DSengineer 07-15-2005, 05:23 PM Nice choice on wheels/tires.
number9 07-15-2005, 05:45 PM I think it looks great like it is - I say leave it alone - or send those tires & wheels to me :D
BIG MACZ 07-15-2005, 05:47 PM Go 6" I was gonna go 4" Rancho with 33" tires until I saw one with a 6" and 35" tires yesterday, they look goooooood!
bajatoy 07-15-2005, 06:17 PM Go with RCD 6" and 35's. You will be happier in the long run. My truck rides great, has no problems, is tall enough to see around little cars and has plenty of looks
gibby 07-15-2005, 07:27 PM Thanks for the input, I think I am gonna do the 6". Maybe a stupid question, but who makes RCD?

Performance 07-15-2005, 08:52 PM Most guys don't realize that a 4" Rancho is actaully the same as alot of 6" kits. I had a 4" Rancho lift on a Sierra 1/2 ton with 35's no problem. In reality the Rancho lift raises your truck 5", same as many of the 6" kits. Both the Rancho I had, and RCD that I now run on my Dmax measure 5" on the front subframe. (measurement takin from center of top bolt, to center of bottom bolt) There are a few kits that are a true 6", Pro Comp being one of them. I will say that between Rancho and RCD that I have liked my RCD the best. Hope this helps. By the way your truck looks great, a lift will make it look that much better.
hardcoremxer7 07-15-2005, 10:34 PM You only live once buddy go at least a 6 inch lift with 35's
DSengineer 07-16-2005, 08:45 PM For you guys doing to the 6in lifts with 35's are you changing out your 3:73 gears. Isn't that another expense you have to figure in when going as big as 35's?

I don't consider it an issue AT ALL when only going with 35s. Especially considering todays diesels. Possibly if one were to do a considerable amount of towing in heavy grades.
gibby 08-11-2005, 10:26 AM Just got back from picking up my truck. Got a 4" Rancho with remote resevoir Rancho shocks. The shop that installed it says that when he measured the brackets, it really gives 5.25" of lift.
aquaelvis 08-11-2005, 10:51 AM Look great!
I have mine in the shop now, I get it back today. I also got the Helo Maxx8's but I got the ProComp 6 inch lift. (35x12.50x17's) I'll be posting pics soon, can't wait to get it back!!!
Seeing yours makes me want to get mine back RIGHT NOW!
:ro)
BTW- what kind of grill do you have on there, looks great!

The Rancho and thr RCD are the same lift! Lay the pieces side by side!
Other than the two bars that make the Rancho a one-piece sub-frame they are EXACTLY the Same!!!!
