Do any of you practice pulling before you hook to the sled? I was out tonight hooked to an old freightliner with flat tires and hauled it around, tires chewing in 2nd low to make sure nuthin was gonna blow all to hell on me at the track.

Also, what gear do you fellow handshakers pull in? last year i was stock with stock tires, no power adders and ran 3rd low. This year i have a mild stack, and 285 BF muds. Should i keep at 3rd gear? or lay back to second?

Well, there's no way to duplicate a pulling sled without actually pulling a sled. Pulling the Freightliner around doesn't load the suspension the same way a sled will. It'll help you with the tuning of power but it'll do nothing else. The best way to practice is to just start going to the pulls and hooking to the sled.
