Hello-

I have a 85 m1009 j code blazer with 32k bought it in Dec. and it had probly been sitting for some time. I put about 2k diesel and 1k grease miles on it. Recently I started to have troubles that looked like my IP. The idle was rough, blueish white smoke, surging, a gas petal lag at 60-70 on the highway. Today while driving home it died on the highway. I waited 30 minutes, it bearly started, and I drove it most of the way home. It felt like it wasn't getting much fuel. There is no air in the system (I have a few clear lines to tell) and an electic fuel pump that provides plenty of fuel. I am pretty sure the IP is toast, does anyone recommend a particular rebuild service via mail, or one closer to Denver, CO?

Thanks for the help,

Bill

If you're sticking with grease I'd recommend a cheap used pump until you get all the kinks worked out. It seems like some grease guys go through 2-3 IP's a year. At $500 per that gets expensive and outweighs the grease savings. With a $50 used IP tho the economy kinda comes back.

Where can I buy a used pump?

Oh I don't know. Wrecker, kijiji, classifieds, craigslist, anywhere you'd get other used parts. There's even a nation wide wreckers guide.

I might try to put a tested pump in the first time to see how it goes but would not be opposed to a cheap used one. I would be nice to know what all my options are. Can anyone recommend a rebuild service via mail, or one closer to Denver, CO? or have a used one for sale?

Thanks,

Bill

I don't think I want to put a used pump in my truck. I have been running grease in other cars for a few years and my oil and system is ready to roll. They want 700-800 here in Denver so I am thinking Ebay. Here are the rebuild services listed on Ebay.

KR Services (wisconson) $400
DCP Prodcuts (memphis) $255
AZ Diesel Injection Services (arizona) $265

Does anyone have any info, experience, or preferences between each?

I greatly appreciate any help,

Thanks,

Bill
