Haven't posted in a while. My attention has been focused elsewhere from my truck for a while.

I noticed the starter wasn't spinning as fast and since I installed Interstate batteries a little over a year ago, I took it back to the battery dealer this morning. Sure enough, one of the tteries is bad and according to Interstate's warranty policy, they replaced both with no questions asked. Good company to deal with.

Now the air conditioner is acting weird. The left side is cool but the right side is HOT. The A/C was working perfect before touching the batteries. I came home and disconnected both batteries and let it sit for 5 minutes or so then reconnected.

Upon restart, the cold and hot air switched sides from earlier then the left side went from hot to cold and both sides were cool again.

My question is this. Did the computer just get confused? We are going on a camping trip Friday and I'm a little nervous about this since temps in Texas are near 100 with high humidity.

When you disconnect the batteries, sometimes the computer does funny stuff-- and yes, you re-set them. It is best to just replace one battery at a time.

I agree but I disconnected the other battery when I saw the first attendant yanking on the first battery and the leads just flopping around while the other battery was still connected. The owner then showed up and finished the job correctly.

I am impressed with the Interstate battery warranty. They replaced both batteries even though only one was bad. Also, I now have a new warranty. He told me that the warranty was on the battery not from the origional purchase date. Pretty cool. Never heard of that before

In hind sight.....should turn off ALL accessories before disconnecting the batteries. With that said the A/C vent controls maybe out of calibrations

The fix, quoting BRAD92, is "Turn the climate control off, then turn the truck off (you might not have to turn the truck off, I do because it makes me feel better about it). Pull the fuse, then put it back in after 60 seconds. Then start the truck and DO NOT touch the climate controls for atleast 60 seconds while it re-calibrates itself. Then turn the a/c on and see if it worked." Quoted from a discussion in the interior section of this form.
