I had TBS#02-01-38-007C performed on my truck last September as soon as the dealer got all the parts. I never really got a chance to test until lats week. We took a trip to Las Vegas to more our son. The AC works great on the highway, but driving around town it is undesirable. It just cools a little when outside temp's are above 95 degrees. Would it be worth a try to put 2 auxiliary fans in front of the radiator to help cool a little more, or would that put too much load on the electrical system?
I rode in a friends 2003 Duramax that would cool a lot better in the same conditions. He had 2 fans mounted in front just under the grill. He told me a GMC Truck center in California did the work for him under Warranty.
I would appreciate any and all help on this problem.

Looks like I must be the only one having this problem. It has been here a few days, and no replys.

I've got an '03 also which I bought out of warranty. Otherwise I would have had them do the work as outlined in the TSB. Mine cools OK, I just think it could be better. When it gets worse, I'll take it in and have them go through it.

if u are oiut of warranty the parts would cost u around $250 + labor.

in the tsb it also states u can try lowering the refrigerant from 1.8lb to 1.6lb for some improvement.

Dropped off the truck this morning at the dealer. They called this afternoon and said they ordered the parts needed and they will be in next week. Hopefully this will fix my problem. I'll let you'all know.

 After 3 times the Tech finally tried replacing the low pressure switch. He said he had replaced it and it was working OK. It did cool a little better for a day or 2. I have had it back for 2 weeks, and it does cool. But nothing like my wife's 03 Tahoe. at 103 after driving about 4 to 5 miles you cannot leave it on 60 on the climate control. I still think it should cool as good as the Tahoe.

Got my AC fixed yesterday. Today it was 95 deg and my AC was pumping out around 58 degs. Felt real nice.

I'm not sure what all they replaced, but I did give them a copy of the TSB and they said they replaced the parts that it called for. To them less than a week to get the parts in and less than a day to fix.

I had the 007c TSB done to my 2003 two weeks ago and I'm real happy. Works great so far.

I noticed this problem the day I picked my truck up. Of course, the dealer couldn't find anything wrong and now, 2yrs later and out of warranty I find this TSB. Can someone tell me what parts are listed in the bulletin for replacement? Aggravates the hell out of me to find all this info after the fact.
