: 1/8 mile @ 9.89sec My first track at track
KTOWNMOTO 07-03-2010, 10:12 PM running a 6 inch lift with 20 ' 35
im certain i could have done better with better air pressure, and being able to hear my motor rps; boosted launches was around 2000rps, ran 4 times, 3 times g80 locker had not locked and did the "aShphalt crayons" lol
-anyways ill post a vid if i can find out how?
also, how can i improve my 60 foot times? can i toss some sand bags to help with traction? and how come the g80 has not been locking?? just wondering what happened cause im a little suprised to say the least of the results...

rudy1992 07-04-2010, 01:37 AM were u launching in 2wd at 2000 rpm?? in a 4wd launch i only leave at about 1700 or 8 psi. my 1/8 mile was about 8.9, i think on one run i got into the 8.8's. my 60ft was also consistence 1.9's. i hope this helps since we have very similar trucks. btw i was on 20's and 33's with ppe on stage 4 with stock trans
TN_Preacher 07-04-2010, 03:03 AM Launch it in 4 hi. You'll get much better results. I spin 3 tires launching at 2200 rpm in 4 hi and I'm running 33x13's with EFI on a stock trans. So far I've cut 9.01 but my 60 ft sucks because my idler and pitman arm are wore the hell out. Try 4 hi and let us know how it works. Quick side note, before doing the 4 hi thing, make sure you drop your torsion bars, and have tie rod sleeves or heavy duty tie rods
KTOWNMOTO 07-04-2010, 01:37 PM i seem to take in account that 4 wheel launches are recommended; my frontdriveshaft is outa truck being repaired:mad:
my tire pressure had been 55 psi rear and im thinking about some traction aids such as sand bags,
tires are procomp extreme mt so im wondering if i should just toss in the gloves till other tires(better of course) are available.
something i just noticed and would like to comment on is the videos show the back right tire spinning loose on all three of my runs' - whats wrong, anything i should replace besides an eaton/grizzly locker of some sort???
all runs were launched around 2000rps ' i had a hard time cause most of the cars i had raced are loud- REALLY LOUD-
thanks
JCT404 07-18-2010, 10:34 AM Your times are identical to mine in 2wd, I wasn't sure about doing 4wds because I don't have sleeves or anything done to the front but someone talked me into it. So my last run I did it, it took .7 off my 60 ft time and 1 second off my 330 ft time, as for the 1/8th I had 9.85 dialed.... I should of changed it to 8.85.....i coasted and breaked the last 100 or so feet just so i wouldn't break out. The guy, which I had raced three time before and had 9.95 dialed in, was quite suprised when when the crew cab truck jumped out two cars off the line and pulled away from his roadrunner down the track.
BigDMax05 07-19-2010, 02:19 PM launch in 4wd hi at about 16-1700, make sure tow/haul is on to lock torque converter. there is about 2/10ths to be said for getting the converter locked. my black truck consistently goes 8.50's and i made a pass without it locked and it went 8.70's. put some tie rod sleeves on and mash the go pedal.
CarolinaHD 07-30-2010, 12:40 AM fwiw i ran a 9.5 tonight with just a 5" turbo back exhaust, launched in 4wd at full boost on the stock 245s and no steering upgrades. and i also spun all 4 tires down the entire strip

I would launch softer in 2wd and take some air out of tires. Drop air to 30 psi and try again.
semperfidoordie 08-01-2010, 12:00 PM Agreed! I'd also suggest upgrading the front end (sleeves, pitman and idler brace or solid centerlink) those are all great things to help with your times and overall strength of the front suspension in general. And most of all get out there and have fun
Trucstop 08-12-2010, 08:31 AM Hi ktownmoto is the the track near Kelowna. I was there last fall visiting . We when to dtags one evening. Looks like the same track .Same guy doing talking.

you launched at FULL boost, on 245s, 4wd, no tie rod ends, with the biggest tune a 125 and spun all the way down the 1/8 track? i have never seen a truck spin ALL 4 tires going down the track with just a 125 tune. not calling you a liar or anything, im just saying.
KTOWNMOTO 08-12-2010, 10:02 PM hey guys, thanks for the replies.
im real eager to get back up out at the track and test a few ideas... Definatly going to lauch a little lower then mash it after 1-2 shift; i start out near 1300rpms and go up from there
i got the methonal hooked back up last week and gonna tune the max injection pressure before hiccups- and TIRE pressure will be back to 30psi, not 55-
ill update soon.
