All exhaust will drop temps about the same. Ditching the cat will also help egt's even more but then you have other things to deal with. If your thinking of ditching the cat do a search on "finger sticks" and or talk to fingers.

The difference in exhaust is looks, quality of material and ease of install, and sound, and lastly price. Sound is very subjective. What I like you may not. Its best to try and hear a few exhausts in person if possible. Try to make a diesel event or talk to a guy you see on the board local to you and see if he will take you for a spin.

TTS is said to have the quitest.

Oh, and BTW WELCOME NOOBs

MBRP is very popular here and for reason. The system fits perfect, sounds good, and comes in three different materials: Aluminized, T409 SS, and T304 SS. The systems are mandrel bent and are 4" in diameter. There is no gain in going to 5", it is more for looks. If you are thinking of removing the catalytic converter you may run into problems setting of your SES (Service Engine Soon) light due to insufficient EGR flow. You can however get rid of the code with a "Fingerstick." Let me know if I can help or give us a call if you have any questions.

bultaco290 & Foureyes45,

The LLY trucks work well with a cat back system, if you leave the cat alone your warranty legal and the sound level will be close to stock except when towing heavy or wailing on the fuel! The cat costs you a couple three HP and approx 25-35 degrees higher EGT. If you pull the cat for racing then you'll most likely need a finger stick to kill the SES light. Some trucks need it others don't, only one way to find out and it's pretty cheap anyway.

LB7 is exactly the same if you have a CA truck (excpet the finger isn't applicable), if you have a 48 state truck then replacing the front pipe is waht most customers do. It'll raise the sound level some but sounds good and throaty etc.

Call us if you have any questions we'll be glad to help you.

Guys, I just got done installing a mbrp 4" exhaust that I ordered from Mark Craig. The pipe was very easy to install. And everything lined up perfect. The install was on a 05 D/A. It is my Dad's Truck. His concern was the noise in the cab. Because his 02 had too much noise for the old man. This MBRP pipe has impressed him very much. It did me also. I will be calling Mark Craig soon to order one for my 02. Mark answered all my questions and I had the pipe in Three days. I also feel if their was any problems Mark would back me and solve any problem I had. Just my experience. Brad

TTS is the most quiet and sounds great. Driving 90 mph with air on, radio playing, I can have a very nice conversation with someone in the back seat. :exactly:

What Do You Think About The Silverline Exhaust System

I bought and installed the 4 inch Silverline system in stainless steel...The install went easy, everything fit just fine and it has a really nice 5 inch polished tip...Everything is slip fit so you just align it, then tighten down the clamps...On my '05, the cat had to go, as this system starts at the turbo..

As far as the sound, it is relatively quiet, but you can hear the turbo pretty clearly now (which I like), and a slight low pitch rumble. With the windows up and driving, I can't really tell the difference from the stock system. The muffler is a straight thru design but it is not loud...

I'm happy with it overall.....

I just bought a TTS 4" cat back system this past week and installed it yesterday. I have a 2004.5 LLY Crew Cab Shortbed. The muffler is a long and straight through type. This system is about as close to stock soundling as you can get. Very pleasant to the ears both inside the truck and outside. I didn't install the big chrome 5" tip they provided though. That 5" tip would make it look like I live in Compton! (Just kidding) I will however reach out for the TTS folks and try to swap it for a 4" pipe extension. On a performance note. After driving it for a while, it became clear that the stock muffler was awefully restrictive. The increased responsiveness of the engine after putting on the TTS muffler was noticable.:D
