Hey guys,

I'd like to put a 285 sized tire as my spare, to replace the existing stock 245 tire that's under there.
I've read around, and it seems I should be able to fit this size tire with my aftermarket Banks 4" exhaust, right?
Couple other questions:
The spare rim is a black (guessing steel) rim, that has 5 cutouts, or is a 5 star if you will. Seem them before, probably pretty common.
Is this rim a 6.5" offset like my old stock PYO's were, or is it 7.5" offset?

I have a 5th chrome H2 not being used right now. I'm debating putting that rim (in perfect condition) on the spare 285, or if the existing black spare is a 7.5", I may just reuse that so I'm not having the H2 rim get all beat up from road debris......then again, it is just collecting dust in my shed.
Figure the weight of the black rim is much less than the H2 rim, so should I be worried about that?
Which configuration would you do, assuming this all fits/works?

Thanks!

If you set up your spare same as your other 4, you could get a nice rotation in. I'd try to figure out a cover or something to protect the one under the bed, though.

Not a bad idea Down8, may have to do that.

Anyone know what the rim size/offset is on our spare tires?
Anyone running a larger than stock spare and have any issue with the spare tire holder cable breaking or handling the add'l weight?

Dont think it will clear the hitch.

285s should clear fine - I had a studded 285 T/A KO on the stock spare carrier.

35s would be a stretch. :D
