Hello everyone I am currently in the market for a 2500 duramax and I just has a few questions about two different trucks I am looking at. I searched but just couldn't find what i was looking for. Truck #1 2004 Chevy lly ec/sb 2500, on the website it has all the factory options and it lists this truck as having 4:10 gears; i thought they had 3.73 in a 2500. Truck #2 2005 GMC cc/sb 2500 3.73 ratio. I guess what I am asking and I hope these questions don't sound dumb (im new to this whole diesel truck thing) what are the benefits or disadvantages of the two tranny? If you need a crew then buy it, need a etd cab then buy it. The 3.73 and the 4.10 refer to the gear ratio in the rear diff. not the tranny. Hope this helps.
