there is white smoke coming from the exhaust smells ike oil/fuel no sweat smell


does not use water,no water in oil, no cold start pressure in top rad hose. there is oil coming out the wast gate and around the turbo/ehaust conection

Look straight ahead, you won't see it.

Smoke when? For how long? When you start? When you accelerate? When hot? When cold? Has you truck got a diesel engine? Good to know that it doesn't smell like sweat, so at least we know deodorant won't help!

its a 6.5l turbo diesel
its fine when its cold no smoke
but when it warms up it smokes like a freight train
it smokes more when you give it more fuel to go up a hill

Have your injection timing checked/set, sound like it is retarded.

Does it use much oil? How much?

i just got it as a project truck dirt cheap looks like its going to be a big project

Drive it some then, get familiar with it, burn a dozen tanks of fuel, get to know it, then you will know if it is using coolant, oil, etc.

Today I don't think you have a hot clue.

Read all you have patience for in the FAQ and stickies at the top of the forum, do searches, like "white smoke" and whatever troubles you think you may have.

could the oil rings be gone at just shy of 200,000 miles?:confused:

i am thinking of swaping in a 6.2L millitary take out

Could be a stuck injector. Does it idle smoothly?
