So I just installed this in my truck and can now see how many grams of soot are in my DPF.
My question is how many grams before a regen happen? Or do I have to do a manuel?
If I do is it ok to do while I'm driving?
I was going to do it yesterday but all the warnings that come up said I should be pulled over in neutral? Doesn't seem right to me as the truck did it all the time before while driving.
I now have 52g of soot and its flashing..... Does the edge stop regens?
I have a non race tune in right now. Sry for the million Q's..:p:

i dont know exactly how many grams, but i do know that when you force a regen with the edge, that you need to pull over into a parking lot, i recommend you do it at home. Put the car in neutral, put the parking break on, and start the regen. but again, i dont know the exact amount of grams.

Moved to 4th Gen Electronics

Mine used to regen at about 45 grams typically....there were times when it would regen at a random time too though....

Take it for a rip on the highway, the CTS should tell you that it is in regen and you should be able to watch the soot count drop....

Ya that's what I thought. I drive about 100km too work and 100km home every day.
I thought it would do it this morning on the way too work but it never did. That sucks that I can't do the man. regen while I'm driving.

I believe right around 30 is the numer you want the regens at.

when you installed the tune did you press "enter" saying that you removed the dpf? you have to hit menu saying that it is still there. you might need to reinstalled whatever level tune you have to make sure your regen is still enabled.

New system going on in the morning, will install new tune and say yes. Can't wait to see how much more the truck improves.:D

Another idea: yank off that shitty DPF and put on a nice free flowing exhaust and run it with your tuner and watch your mileage and performance go up considerably. Then you won't have to worry about soot particle count and regens and all the foolishness anymore.

I think I left about a billion soot particles in the driveway this morning along with a couple nice tire marks...nothing flashing at me to tell me my soot count was too high.:RockOn::stick_out

While I put in the new system yesterday, it was very easy to install put a PITA to remove the old one.
The differential sensor lines and RTD's where impossible to get loosened.:eek:
What a difference it made once all done and I luv, luv, luv the new sound.

I love the way it sounds with no muffler!!! You also lose a butt ton of weight by removing the old system. I love how it smells like a diesel again!!!

I think the smell is the only thing I don't like:cool: but this is my first diesel so maybe it will grow on me;).

really? i love the smell! the install kinda sucked because it rained but i would have to say i am getting a good 2-3 mpg increase.

Ya I already see an improvment around town. Really happy with this mod, will be the first one I do on my next truck.:D
