I also see alot of you guys say your running it at 8in how do you do this I wont be doing any off roading in my truck and very light towing any help would be great since I have never lifted a truck before thanks Mitchell
theunderlord 06-29-2010, 03:47 PM 1. what truck do you have?
rocketracer45 06-29-2010, 03:58 PM With the 37x12.50x18 you may not have to crank it up to 8'. You may be able to run the starter kit with minor trimming. If you plan on cranking it up a little the cognito upper control arms is a wise investment.
Sledheadxp800r 06-29-2010, 04:55 PM 7-9" kit
Uca's if you wanna crank it up some
shocks
springs or blocks
tierod sleeves or some kind of HD inner/outer would be a good idea
extended brake lines if it doesn't come with them
there's probably some stuff I'm forgetting
J.mitchell 06-29-2010, 05:21 PM I have an 03 2500 the truck had 315's on it when I bought it so it has some triming done to the front valance already
theunderlord 06-29-2010, 05:30 PM Check out Sledhead's garage... (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/garage.php?do=view&g=30235) same year, same lift (basically)
Primed2win 06-30-2010, 12:13 AM Okay here's a question.
I've looked on both Cognito's and NorCal's site for the 7-9 Cognito kit. It doesn't mention anywhere (did I miss something?) about whether the 7-9 kit is a TBD kit or NTBD kit. It seems to me the pricing on NorCal's site is competitive. I'm assuming its the TBD but would like to know; and also would like to know price difference for the NTBD kit. Nick, you out there???

Upper control arms, HD tie rods, Bilstein shocks. For the rear either get Deaver springs. The ride quality with these is amazing! Upgrades if money allows: traction bars, long travel air bags.
After getting the lift I added sway bars and that was a HUGE difference, especially in the rear of the truck.

Call Nick, explain what you want, he'll price you an entire kit.
BiggJim 06-30-2010, 03:10 PM The price on cognito's site is for a TBD kit

jvanwinkle2 06-30-2010, 07:24 PM Sledhead, did you go with the new cv axles from Cognito?

I'm sure he would. I don't want to waste his time til I'm ready to order though. I'm still in the "saving my pennies and planning stage". Wanting to know the price difference between the TBD and NTBD kit is part of my planning, I just haven't found pricing on the NTBD kit.
It between 400-500 dollars difference. I talked to cognito and they said its not a good ieda if you drive in a lot of salt due to the open heim joints the kit uses.
theunderlord 07-02-2010, 02:05 AM Yup, nick quoted me about 5 bills difference.
Primed2win 07-03-2010, 12:08 PM :saluteusa:Thanks, for the info. Now I just need to decide if $500 is worth it for the NTBD kit. This whole planning stage thing sucks, I want to be on the building and driving a lifted truck stage.:saluteusa:
rocketracer45 07-03-2010, 12:53 PM spend it...you can't take it with you!
