I have been reading that the sts tires are pretty much the cats meow in sled pulling. Looking on thier site they offer both radial and bias ply, what would the pros and the cons be of each tire in both daily driver and dedicated pulling tires?

they are a very soft tire and don't wear well on the street . a friend of mine put a set on a daily driver before the second pull of the season and they were wore completely out before the season was over .

the bias have deeper tread depth and the voids in the tread are a little wider , and the rubber compound seems softer and the tread is more flexible. but the radail has a wider flatter foot print we have bolth and really i cant seem to notice a difference when hookin with either one.

Climax had/has the bias ply on them at one time. Seemed to do good. I had the radials and like post above they wore like sh!t. Great for pulling only though on tight tracks

Pretty much sounds like daily driving is out of the questing on them. Wasnt really planning on that anyways but this reinforces that even more.

no its not out of the question, there are several ppl that daily drive them around here yes they do lose some of there edge but if ur not runnin a high hp truck you dont need all that bite anyway, they may not last 40k in the road but they dont wear out in 5k unless ur burnin them ever stop

Hey Brad give Matt a call at the shop, we got our hands on some of them for a customer last week. Great pullin tire(The best imho) but I DO NOT recommend any street use on them and stick with the radial tire it seems to be alittle more stable at lower pressures for pulling.

they sold out to a different company, and the thread is going to be the same but are going to be made of a different compound

Yeah dont get bias ones. The radials have to get better traction because of the way a radial tire is made. They flex more and give more of a foot print like said above. bias tires hold up to damage better for off roading though.
