Well my tranny guy got everything tore out last week and when he showed me the damage I was pretty shocked. The clutches in my PPE stage 4 kit were destroyed. The kit was put in almost 6 years ago in my friends truck. I was really shocked when he showed me the converter it had, big and purple with an ATS sticker on it. It started to shudder in OD when all this happened,I assume that was the converter. He also discovered that I had broke 3 C3 return springs which don't come in the suncoast or any kit for that matter. I tried Mike L and he confirmed it is a dealer item, of course no dealer within 2000 miles had any. Thankfully suncoast did have some and shipped them out to me. I hopefully get them tomorrow so I don't tie up his lift too long.
Couple of questions.

1 How do I know if the old converter is shot?Should I sent a stock core back or the ats?

2 Do valvebodies go bad or warp?

Thanks
JAy

Depending on how bad those clutches shed material, then that is probably what made the converter go bad. Probably want to send it in while everything is apart anyways. We can do a cut and clean on our converters and replace any worn out clutches and can make sure everything else in there is good to go.

I actually ordered a suncoast converter with my kit. I guess I just send suncoast my ATS as my core then right?

Thanks
