Can an ATF flush of a Allison transmission 5 spd 1000 series ( 2005 Chev 2500 HD Duramax) cause complete breakdown or failure 14,458 miles later ?

More than likely not- as stated above it depends on what they put on it for fluid. How many miles were on the tranny when it was flushed?

Just FYI Allison says never to flush their trannys.

Yes it could if you took it to a shop and they used a power flush machine. If the power flush machine flushes by pumping fluid in the reverse direction of the normal flow when operating you can cause big problems in the trans. This is why Allison recommends not doing flushes with power flush machines. It can push filters debris back into the internals of the transmission thus causing damage to your trans. If you want to do a flush use the "Hoot Method" and do your flush. This uses the transmissions own pump to do the flush.
