Those of you who are doing injector replacements: Have you seen any correlation between cylinder numbers and "bad" injectors? For example, does the injector in cylinder #7 have a highter failure rate than most?

Also, have you discovered crud or deposits in the fuel rails or fuel system post oem filter.

Just curious. Remember there are no dumb questions, just a few inquisitive idiots.

Thanks,

havent seen any certain # injector(s) fail, but have seen rust in the high side lines at the injectors.seems to be mainly on either side rear.diesel or gasoline isnt perfect so rust and other crud is going to happen in any fuel system.

I just bought a 02 Duramax with 70000 miles on her and a carfax report stated the fuel system was serviced at 60000. The dealers internal records showed all 8 were replaced. My question is on the earlier models I heard injector problems were more common so they extended the warranty only on the injectors. Do they get updated to a different design or just replaced? Thanks

Will the dealer replace the injectors for free if the warranty has expired?

I think it applies to 01 to 04. GM extended the waranty 7 years or 200000 only on the injectors. It is free replacement

Special policy applies to 01 and 02 only. At least for now.
