I think it is the fuel system. I took off the k&n fipk and put the stock intake back on. The dealer just called and told me it has the gasser air filter and that could be the problem. I just bought the truck so I assume the dealer put in the wrong air filter. I do not think that is the problem because it smoked worse with the k&n fipk on it. Anyone ever had smoking issues attributed to the wrong air filter?

Lots of black smoke and some white smoke when at idle.

Your truck has the exact same symptoms as mine. This started happening to my truck while towing my boat in the desert. Dealer said it falls under the special policy not my gmpp 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty.
