I put a Southbend dual disc in my 2003 a couple of months ago and it holds great but now I have a popping noise that occurs during the inevitable "bounce" when letting out on the clutch. Any ideas on what this could be coming from? I guess it could be from my suspension because my geometry isn't ideal when it comes to that (torsion bars cranked all the way). Thanks in advance.

No one has any ideas? It just started after I got the new clutch in so I would think that it is related; and it seems to be getting worse, now "popping" several times when pulling out.

I've never had a noise like that . Not related but u-joint maybe??

put it in N and have slack in the driveshaft. crawl under and see if your driveshaft has wiggle up/down and side to side.
the hopping is the ceramic disk. They were not meant to be "slipped" When it starts hoping dump the clutch she will take off

about the only other thing would be if you didn't get the pilot bearing properly aligned and forced your tranny on to the engine

Would the transmission even mount up if the pilot wasn't aligned? The trans didn't slide on extremely easy but it wasn't horrible to get it on there. I'll check the u-joints today too.

as long as you got it to mate up to the engine by hand, it should be fine. Some people get it so far then use the bolts to finish, usually trashing the pilot bearing while doing so.

Well, we got it within less than 1/2 of an inch and then began to tighten up the bolts. Guess we just thought it was normal, you think this could be making the noise??
