Installed new turbomaster from heath diesel today but the actuator arm only seems to move approx 1/4 inch before the bolt hits the body of the turbo..... is it supposed to move more than this to be effective .. it moved much more with the vehicle turned off and the old system removed..

95 Chev 2500 . 6.5

thanks for any info ..

Lion,

Take a minuite to read the welcome note sticky at top of forum to see how to update your sig, for your TM can you send a photo so we can see if it is an assembly error, or something missing from the kit you recieved.

You may need to slightly bend the actuation rod some, some of the turbos are oriented so that the TM hits the body and requires "adjustment", but confirm with Heath this is the case, mine has a semi S bend in the middle of it after I re-oriented the turbo to meet my IC tubes.

Next piece of advise Gauges, gauges, gauges make NO MODS that alter delivery of fuel or boost without them, with a TM there is no way for PCM to control an out of limit condition by dumping boost which is 1st step in GM's algorithm, step 2 is to clip fuel if it can't clip boost. Gauges are also good diagnostic tool, as commercial says "Just Do It" lot of been there done that from others of why this is a big deal.

I couldn't agree more...My first mods were gauges, my second mod was an exhaust which is being installed as I type and third will be the ECM and TM. It also gives me the oppertunity to see the differences in egt as well as boost as the mods are being applied.

Difficulty is probably 4 or 5 on a ten scale. If you are comfortable changing your own brakes, and can run a drill without killing anyone, then you can do the install. Figure on it taking a good saturday, stoping occasionally for beer and potty breaks.

Cost? Try $4500 if you DON'T use them! That's what it cost me to replace my engine after frying it with mega-high EGT's before I got gauges. But figure on $300-$400 for a nice set with a pillar pod.

Thanks for the info. I am rehooking up the factory vacuum system until I can afford to get gauges.
