Can anyone recommend a brand name and purchase location for a EGT gauge that is of good quality and easy to install?

I'd say look at the supporting vendor section at the top of the forum and check out their deals. That's what they're here for! ;-)

**** & B-rad,

All the Pyros basically install the same, drill and tap the manifold and thread in the thermo, hook up power and you're done. Not a real big deal overall, I would also reccomend a boost gauge while your at it. We stock all the Auto Meter and DiPricol gauges and mounts as well as color matching paints and installation wiring harnesses, give us a call at the office and we will be glad to help you.

I bought mine from Mark Craig. Works exactly as he says. Very simple.

We use either Autometer or SPA and have found them both to be very accurate. The SPA's are a little pricey, but also have more feautures than the Autometers. We also just got the new mechanical Cobalt gauges from Autometer. They have the same face as the electrical ones, but are about the same price as an ultra-lite. Let me know if I can help.

I'll throw my $0.02 in...

I think Autometers are good gauges--proven and easily obtainable. I just don't like the lighting as well as others, though. That's why I went with DiPricols, and I'm very pleased. The quality is impressive even to me. (I'm really critical when it comes to this stuff.)

The DiPricols are in the hunt price-wise, so I'd give them a shot. You really shouldn't go wrong either way...
