i have to take the heads of my truck to get some broken exhuast manifold bolts out..i was planning on getting my heads milled and gone over while there off.i figured the milling will add a lil more compression and should make more power.any thoughts about this? i dont think i will have any problems with piston to valve clearance since the pistons are dished. any info on this would be great.

Yeah, you can definitely get them milled. How much I don't know, check into it and mill them to the max amount. Those heads are cheap, a salvage yard gets around $100 for them in case something would ever happen later on. Also get the the thinnest head gaskets you can find. More compression will make more power and better mpg for sure.

If you do mill the heads, be sure to get new pushrods seeing your going to need shorter ones. You'll more than likely have to measure them, then order em. I would certainly get a custom tune with head work as well.

I'm not familiar with your engine but when I deck a block or cut heads I also have intake side of head cut so intake fits again (or cut intake to fit). If you would deck the block, cut top of block too, things fit correctly again.
