My tranny running empty is running at about 200+ on hot days. i also hear a lot of drive train noise when it is really hot out side. is this normal or not?

the only power up grade i have is the juice 90HP tune

How often do you change the spin on filter. If it has more than 10K on it I'd change it. Also what is the condition of you tranny fluid. Is it nice red and doesn't smell burnt? Does this happen on the highway at highway speeds or in stop and go traffic? You may want to get a Mike L. tranny cooler and change the fluid to synthetic. I'd make sure the fiter is done if it's past 10K first. JMO.

Just towed my 8000 lb 5th wheel home from camping, trans temp 180-185, air temp 89-92, speed 60-62. Your temps seem high, but you are in Texas. I used to get slightly higher temps when I used transynd, so I drained out and went back to Chevron III H, and temps went back down.

My trans temp gets to around 200 deg on hot days. Especially when driving in the hills where I live.

Oddly, the trans temps are lower towing a trailer through the desert than around town driving in the hills. I attribute this to the thermal load placed on the tranny fluid by the torque converter (locked when towing and not locked driving around town).

I just experienced the 200 deg. tranny yesterday AC on, outside temp around 102, little slow & go traffic. Turned the AC off to see if it would drop the temp some, drove about 8 mi and the trans never did drop, this was empty.

Is 200 deg. running empty a concern?
