I just put new headgaskets on and now its all done I have 1 hose I don't remember were it goes.
Near the intake there is a black box with 2 other small hoses pluged in, and then a third thats about 3 feet long
going nowhere
I'm getting a 236 code so I'm guessing its something to do with the vacuum sensor

I'm guessing the little black box, on the drivers side of the engine, is probably the control solenoid for your turbo. One of the hoses should run down to the vacuum pump on the front passenger side of the engine. The other hose should run over to the wastegate actuator on the top of the turbo. What diameter is this 3' hose? It's currently not hooked up to anything at all (leftover part?)?

I'll try to get a picture tomorrow, and thank you very much for the reply

The black box is towards the passenger side; mounted on the intake; its about 3"x1"x1/2"
it has a hose on the top, and one on the bottom; both are about 2"
and they are both hooked to a t
the third part of the t is the long hose going nowhere

Your welcome. Post the pic when you can. It doesn't sound like the wastegate solenoid, unless it's out of place... So hopefully the pic will make it clear what it is!

There is a little schematic stickie in my fan shroud that shows the vacuum hose routing.

Alrighty then.... they have done something very strange to your boost sensor. Do you happen to have a boost gage in your truck? My only thought for what they have done there, is to tap off in order to hook up a boost gage. What is that silver thing threaded into the center of the intake? Almost looks like a grease fitting??

That black box is your boost sensor (essentially just a MAP sensor, but it's only job in this case is to read boost pressure). Typically it mounts directly to the intake there, and wouldn't need any hoses at all. But someone has changed that.

If you do NOT have a boost gage anywhere in your truck, then take the hose from the intake and put it directly onto the boost sensor, and get rid of that T fitting and extra hoses.

If you DO have a boost gage, then I would guess that is where that hose should connect to.

And whatever that silver thing in the center of the intake is... I'd replace that with a pipe plug to make sure it's sealed well.

The silver thing is probably where they connected a boost gauge.

Dondandd is right, this is your boost sensor, and I don't understand what they've done too, except to have a connection ready for a gauge (e.g. while doing repairs or test).
In that case, it would have been a nice idea to plug it instead of having it vented to atmosphere. This way, the sensor reads nothing.
The hose are connected to nowhere you said, so, get rid of them and replace the sensor like stock.... or plug that hose.

thank you, and yes there is a boost gauge
I'll have to do some more digging but I think there is another sensor just like that one on the driver side

dondandd, matuva, thank you
should I plug the "grease fitting"
I thought it looked strange too, but since I don't have another 6.5 to look at I didn't questioned it

Yeah, I would take out that grease fitting and put a proper pipe plug in it.

Does the other sensor on the driver side have two hoses going into it? If so, that's probably the wastegate control solenoid.

ok, I pulled the "t" off and routed the hose from the manifold to the bottom of the MAP sensor; damn does it drive better.
and yes it is the wastegate solenoid, so I atleast know whats going on now :)
