I am going to order my 06 any day now and I need to tell them when I want to take delivery. I should be home from Iraq around the middle of Jan 06 so I want to take delivery ASAP after that. I also want to get the best rebates I can so if GM normally releases new rebate stuff on say the 5th of every month then I would probably wait until Feb to take delivery. Also, does anyone know historically what the rebates have been for Jan/Feb for the past few years? Thanks

They are normally $1K-2K in a mid year cycle. They don't start picking up until they are trying to move the inventory off the lots and they get up to $3K, but don't get up too much further than that on the Dmax. Is your dealer going to hold your order until later this year? Or is GM going to hold it. Actually placing the order now without cooperation from GM or the dealer may get the truck delivered by Sept or Oct. I am sure that you have this all planned out already though.

The way it works through the military car sales is I place the order for my truck right now and I get the price locked in and any rebates that are offered right now are locked in. The order goes to GM directly and they build and ship the truck according to the date that I specify that I want delivery of the truck. So if I want to pick up the truck at my local dealer on 7 Feb 06 GM will build the truck so that it can be shipped and ready for pickup when I specify.

I was specifically talking about the exact date that GM normally startes new rebates/sales for each month. I dont want to pick up the truck on Jan 25th if GM is going to release new rebate info on 2 Feb and possibly get a better rebate.

I don't believe that they have set dates, but you can usually say that they change at the beginning of a month, but they don't necessarily change every month.

You will be able to find out when they will change at least in the a month or so ahead because they always list when the rebates expire.
