Arrg. I bought the truck used and wondered why there was no sound coming from the rear speakers. I figured out why, the old owner took out the rear speakers when he sold it.
Friggin' bastid. Oh well. I ordered cheapy speakers from Crutchfield, and you get the wiring harnesses for everything, cool. Well I pull off the one door panel. Oh NOOOO...just couldn't have used wiring harnesses, cut and soldier in the new (old) speakers. Just cut the wires to take his old speakers out.
Dammit, anything to make my job harder.
I guess I'll get to it tomorrow.
Just wanted to vent a little.
Have a good one!!

ddp127--- Do you have the Bose system? If you have the full center console, you have it. The reason I ask is that Bose uses really wierd impedances and specs and wattage requirements on their speakers. The way I see it, they dont actually make their speakers make *GOOD* sound...they make their speakers make the IMPRESSION of good sound. Oh well...im satisfied with my Lux Bose system...anyway...If you hook up aftermarket speakers to the Bose amp, you could run into problems with impedances and wattage ratings. For example if the aftermarket speakers you bought have a lesser impedance rating than the original Bose speakers (who knows what it is...Bose is very secretive with their specs) , you could cook your Bose amp. If you have the standard speakers, I wouldnt worry about anything.

The rear speakers of the Pose system are 4 ohm and low wattage, so it shouldn't be a problem...

Nah, I have the standard GM system. I'm not a big audio/video guy, I just want to have some rear speakers in there so when there is someone back there I don't have to crank the volume way up.
Think I'll install everything tomorrow. Will give an update when done.
Have a good one!!
