I just received my AFE Stage 2 w/ PG 7, was getting all excited to install it, and I find out the intake tube has a big hole in it to connect to the turbo silencer, or airbox or whatever that is on top of the engine. The problem is my Dmax doesn't have that airbox. The kit says it's for '01-'04 LB7's. Did I get the wrong tube, or do I need to find a way to plug that hole?

01 trucks dont have a resonator, just a cover, so you will need to find something to go there, either a resonator or plug...

Any advantages/disadvantages to putting on a resonator? AFE is suppose to make the turbo whistle more, will a resonator drown out that whistle? I can't hear my engine after I installed my exhuast, I need a reminder to let me know it's still under the hood!:D
Also, any ideas for a plug to use? Anything you guys have tried that has worked well to prevent sucking in dirt?

A rubber pipe cap from Home Depot and a hose clamp will do it... The resonator does take away some whistle.

We'll fix you up with a pipe without the hole in it. I told AFE about this a long time ago, and somehow it slipped my mind to note it on the site. They don't seem to be too concerned about adding a note to the listing though...
