Old Jeep 92 YJ with blown engine, want to throw an incredibly powerful turbo diesel in there that roars like a cummins or duramax or a powerstroke. any ideas to help get me brainstorming?

I would put in a 93 6.5 TD cause its the last year with non computer control which is MUCH easier for hook up and its a turbo, good power. Also is a serpentine belt. Its a chevy bolt pattern which is easy for tranny connections and motor mounts are standard chevy. I have a small block 305 in my jeep now but want to put in the turbo 6.2 that I have. The jeep would be pretty unique as not many people put diesels in and the ones that do typically go with cummins.

I would go with a 4bt. You can buy everything that you need, so it can basically be a bolt in. Your factory fuel pump should do nicely as a lift pump. The 4bt will make enough power to keep the jeep moving until you decide to go with a twin setup...

I had a 88 YJ that I put a 3.9 cummins in with twin chargers, fits very easily, use a nv4500 for a tranny and you can use all dodge parts to bolt it together, I had a dana 300 t case, it bolts to the back of the 4500 very easily, I cant remember exactly but I think I jsut had to make a .5 inch spacer, and it bolts on.

I have a 99 TJ that I researched putting a diesel into. Since I am a power junkie I was looking for a 4btaa out of a mid 90's bread van. These are 4bts with the inline P7100 (for 4 cyl) which can be easily modded for more fuel. Regular 4bts all come with the VE pump that can still be coaxed to produce about 200rwhp with minor adjusting. Id go with a 4bt.
