Are the new coolers helping out any for dropping the temps? I towed my 5er and it was 100* outside and my tranny temps stayed @ 235-240*. Is that okay?

Seems a little warm to me. You will benefit from the cooler by probably 20deg. What were the conditions when you got the high temps (elevation, grade of the climb etc)?

thats toasty! I would definatly talk to mike L and run synthetic ATF. Also may want to verify that your gauge is right. Thats freaking TOASTY!

Towing my 5th wheel this summer, as compared to last summer, same routes, I am running about 20 to 30 degrees cooler. Difference between each summer; Mike L. cooler, deep pan, synthetic fluid, and, oh yeah, SC IV. Couldn't tell you how much difference each by itself makes, though, as I added all items between the summers.

Factory guage tops out midway between 150 and 200 for me now. I have a temp sensor sitting in my deep pan waiting to hook up as soon as I figure out where I am going to mount the guage. Will be interesting to compare that reading to the factory guage.

Would the deep pan help? I have one but have not installed yet.

The engine temps were down to normal operating temps. I was cruising @ 70 mph and not going up a hill. It was constant. I thought it seemed a bit too high as well. How much do the coolers cost? Ease of install?

Factory gauge shows 170 and the in sump temp shows 140-150......I have yet to see over 160 in the sump since the install of the Cooler.

IT WORKS..........!!!!!

Make sure you sent it to the right Mike L. I think there is another member with a very similar handle.

BTW, 20 degrees cooler is a slam dunk with the cooler. I was amazed in the extra cooling and how fast temps drop compared to the OEM cooler.

I did. Still awaiting a reply.
