I have an 04 LB7 with the leather power seats. two winters ago, the heated seats would turn on, but kick off after a few seconds. Dealer said the pads on the driver's side were burned up and kept tripping it, causing the seats to turn off. I replaced the pads myself and had no problems for a while. This past winter, the heated seats wouldn't turn and my driver's seat wouldn't move. Eventually it started working again, but now it stopped. I have no idea what the problem is...maybe a fuse? if so, what one and where's it located, in the cab or under the hood?

passenger seat moves all around and even the lumbar works, but nothing out of the driver's side. No wires are cut or crimped. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet. I'd rather save the money of just having them look at it and maybe figure it out myself or with some help.

Dealer charged me over $40 just to look under the seats at the cushions themselves just to tell me the pads were burned up. The guy told me he knew exactly what the problem was because he could smell the burning pad and wires when he turned the seats on.

any help is greatly appreciated! I don't need the heated seats now but I'd like to be able to move my seat from time to time.

I had the same problem last month on my 04 LLY. I replaced, I think it was
a 50 amp fuse. It's big,red and square. It's in the fuse box under the hood.
It's about 5.00 at G.M. It hasn't blown since I put the new one in. Don't
know what caused it to blow yet. That fuse controls left heated seat,
left power seat and also the right front and back power windows. Hope
this will help you out. Have a good day, OleFox
