I have a problem that just occured the other day in my 2001 lb7 with 100,000 miles on it. I have done nothing to my engine though. I would describle my problem to be a sluggish low rpm fuel control reaction under acceleration. It comes alive around 2,000-2,500rpm and has all the boost egt and power it used to. If you were to drive it normally (grandpa style) you would never know the problem was there. But if you tromp on the throttle, it takes it a long time to react until it reaches 2,000-2,500rpm. I have the predator programmer and no codes have popped up. If I return it to the stock program, the problem only gets worse. I have checked my battery connections and replaced my fuel filter with no changes in performance. I used to be able to tromp on it from a stop, smoke the tires and blow black smoke from the start, but now it dosen't do much until the rpms get up above 2,000. The only other thing is that It used to have a surging idle, but now it dosen't. I NEED HELP!!!!!!!

Well guys, I figured out my problem. It took a lot of head scratching but I got it. I talked to a diesel shop and the dealer, but they had not idea what it could be. I narrowed it down to some sort of sensor not reading correctly to give the computer a false reading at low rpm which would not give the engine the amount of fuel it needed. I had a pretty good bet that it had to be the Mass Air Flow Sensor not reading the air flow at low rpm correctly, so I took the lid of my air box and took a look down the intake tube at the MAF sensor to find a bug stuck to the sensor. I picked it off, cleaned the sensor with some spray cleaner and took the truck down the road. The truck ran perfect. Its amazing what a little sensor and a bug can do to the performance of a truck.
