Seems like to me the writer's biggest gripes were relatively minor things. No fancy little screen in the gauge cluster and no power extenable mirrors. If those are the only things that got GM bad marks then I say they did another awesome job on the 2011s.

I drove the 6.7 and I will say, they got the mirrors right!! Those things are pretty bad@ss, power extend and fold. This wouldn't make me buy one but still pretty cool.

You would be surprised at how nice it is to have complete power mirrors and that fancy little gauge cluster. :D

But, at the end of the day. It's still a Ford. :(

Very sad.

The power mirrors I agree would be nice. The gauge cluster, eh yeah I'm sure it's cool but in the end it's not going to be a deal breaker to me if I were in the market for a new truck

Even though that maybe true ford needs to address their seats. I am glad I got rid of my F350, now I need to order a denali duramax.

Nice article...other than you can feel the 'exhaust brake' feel, there was not any reference to 'showing up' the Ford. This is an extremely competitive market. Nice sell on the GM, no 'over the top' display that would nudge an ambivilent buyer to choose GM over Ford. Per the article it is an improved product over earlier GM HD's, not over another name brand, Ford is still named as the one to beat...

It will be nice to see some 'head to head' competitions soon...

Consumer Reports rated the F250 as one of the 10 worst buys. Nuff said.

Amazing how some read the article and get a completely different feel from it. I basically understood it to say GM has finally gotten it right, Ford is going to have it's hands full with this truck, finally. And the only reason not to choose this GM truck is if you NEED a SFA's. Same basic capabilities with ratings being higher in some areas of GM, some in Ford, but the powertrain seemed to much favored in GM's package. Exhaust brake better, turning radius better, steering feel better, to name just a few. I love my LMM, but this LML seems like the top dog of all GM HD's, ever. Chris

It's the Ford's seats that nudged me to choose GM over Ford. I've driven Chevrolets for most of my life, but I was ready to drive a 2011 Ford. I wanted to want one because I could buy it now and not wait for a truck since my '08 is sold. I never got to the point of driving one. Of the two trucks they had sitting on the lot, both were Lariats and had stickers right at $60k. One look in the window showed what has to be the ugliest seats in existence. I would have to go with the King Ranch to not get the ugly seats, and that would've put me at a $65,000 truck! I have an LTZ 2500HD on order with nav, all the normal options, convenience packages, etc., and its sticker is right at $57,000. After getting supplier price and the additional $1,500 rebate, I'm buying the truck for approx. $51,400. I did have concerns with Ford having a new engine and not knowing what to expect. I also have a friend that works at a Chevy dealership, so it makes it much easier to get any work done if it needs any. This really wasn't an issue on any of my past 2500HD trucks, though, since they really didn't need much of anything. I also KNOW that the Duramax meets my expectations when it comes to pulling big trailers. I doubt the Ford dealership will let me put a gooseneck hitch in their truck so I can haul my trailer around town for a day. ;)

Just drove a King Ranch crew cab F-350 never noticed the engine brake, liked the boost gauge and overall interior(I expected much cheaper materials)but like my 09 3500 reg cab much more. Then I drove a 3500 ram, thinking of buying it.Motor and trans worked together much better than the Powerstroke, the engine brake worked exelent and the interior is greatly improved. But I can wait to try the new GM just need it in time to add a plow to it,and now I can get any kind I like with the 6k front end.
