I have 2005 dually duramax diesel with 1800 miles on it , this is my second dually but first diesel , I haul a 33 ft 5th wheel about 13000 lbs wet , I love this new truck but it has some chacteristics that I am not used to, when I take off from a dead stop its seems to shutter at take off very breifly and off I go , the gas motor I had was very smooth at take off , is this a normal situation for a diesel motor, now when I am not pulling it is very smooth at take off, this truck has a ton of power compared to my last one. Any information would be appreciated .

Probably turbo lag that your not used to, completely normal, drop your cat and muffler and get a chip and youll reduce your lag by ALOT... READ ON and grab a brew! :grd: IMO dont waste any $ on an intake, gms intake is fine, its all for the sound, which is cool too.

Just replyed to a similar post about take off shutter....One dealer to me that is normal because of the two piece drive shaft and the rubber piece that connects them--he called torque slip.....
The second dealer told me I need to upgrade to a nickle plated slip joint...
The third dealer told me it is the chevy drive train--nothing to worry about.
All this was with my 2001 2500 HD...I recently upgraded to the 2005 3500 DRW and only towed once....did not notice the shutter with this vehicle....Hope I don't --it bugged the c**** out of me with the last vehicle

What Surfrippa said.
Under a load when you get on it your naturally gonna get more lag.
I've had a few diesels (5) and this is normal. I have an Edge w/***.
Sticked and Plated no kitty.= almost no lag.
Regarding your carrier bearing; (rubber piece between drivelines) that
would only come into play if your truck was lifted, usually.
Don't worry about it.:ro)
