I was on my way home last night runnin bout 60 or so and my speedo jumps to 85 mph. My gps still said 60. When i got home and shut my truck of it doesnt go below 25. Is there a way to reset it? Is it time for me to just deal with a broken speedo?

Sorry no reset. The stepper motor is shot. the speedo is the first one to go.
GM was forced to extend the warranty on the cluster. I don't know the details.
I found it easier to fix it myself.

Much agreed, how many miles on your truck? If it's under 70k dealer can replace for nothing, if its at 80k you have to pay a little but its not too much.

You must have an early build 2005! Mine is July 05 and hasn't acted up yet. Pretty much all 03-04 steppers fail early in life.
Repair is $150 includes shipping back to you (if you can live without it for 3-4 days). Fixed the same business day I get it and back in UPS heading back to you.

It actually went back to normal after a couple of days. I'm sure it will go out for good eventually but for now im just gonna hold off. All my other gauges work and i have a gps for speed.
