: I Want To Blow Black Smoke Now!!
95greenmachine 07-11-2005, 06:32 PM Hey guys just wondering, i have a 1995 6.5 and it dont have anything done except turbo master and air filter, I want to blow black smoke, it doesnt at all now, just wondering how i could get some rolling without alot of money :( Poor college student, lol. Let me know thanks guys
CanadianRigger 07-11-2005, 06:50 PM If you don't have the cash then why would you want to blow money out the tail pipe? Black smoke is unburnt fuel!
94blazer6.5 07-11-2005, 08:19 PM Unhook the wastegate solenoid, that should make some black smoke. Use lose alot of power but you'll make black smoke. LOL
Texas Diesel Guy 07-11-2005, 08:34 PM Optic bump, #9 Resistor, thats pretty cheap.
knkreb 07-11-2005, 08:35 PM If you're just lookin' for smoke, how about something to inject in the exhaust system, instead of boogerin' up your engine. Black smoke takes it's toll on your engine as high Exhaust Gas temperatures. Not good.
Texas Diesel Guy 07-11-2005, 08:48 PM Yeah, you could do like the Army bridgelayer tanks do.
They call is a 'smoke screen' but all it does is dump diesel into the exhaust and it does make a hell of a cloud!
Joey D 07-11-2005, 09:43 PM It would be nice to hit a switch and lay down a black cloud for the a-hole bike rider who thinks they need to ride side by side like chips and block the road.

In my younger and somewhat wilder days, and with a gasser, we used to fill an old water-type, rechargeable fire extinquisher with ATF and repressurize it. Stuck the nozzle of the extinquisher into a hose running thru the firewall into the carb. When the 'need' for a smoke screen arose, a quick shot on the extinquisher dumped ATF into the carb and shortly thereafter nothing could be seen behind you. Killed a lot of mosquitos that way too!
Tore that engine down several years later - had the cleanest intake runners and heads I've ever seen on a motor with over 100k mi on it.
95greenmachine 07-11-2005, 10:12 PM ok, so how do i do an optic bump, cuz i have no clue what it is, and what is a #9 resistor and how do i do that? lol sorry im not that good yet
chevy_9465 07-11-2005, 11:35 PM the #9 resistor is any easy and cheap thing to do but ur still not gonna be puttin out much smoke with that, i had a chip, turbo master, optic bump and resistor and it would smoke enough to have a little fun with. might wanna talk to the guys at heath diesel, they can hook you up with what you need. but even if your pockets are pretty deep your just not gonna get the kinda smoke u c out of an old 12v cummins, although CR's truck does smoke quite a bit
heres some pic of my old truck smokin, kinda hard to c but u can get the idea, man i miss that old thing:(
95greenmachine 07-12-2005, 05:15 PM thanks for all the ideas, and giving up a minute to post. If you have any more suggestions let me know, i think im gonna go with the chip and resistor for now , im doing stacks here real soon, thanks guys.
Turbine Doc 07-12-2005, 05:56 PM Hey green machine welcome to the site, how much safe power is dependent on how deep your wallet is, go thru FAQs sticky, more power info is there, also take a minute to go thru the welcome notes and update your sig per instructions there.
