I was driving home tonight on a dark road so I turn on my highbeams and all of a sudden all the warning lights came on and the truck was non responsive. like it was in neutral. so I pulled over to the side of the road and stopped. All the warning lights were still on so I put it into park and back to drive and all the warning lights turned back off and was able to drive the truck again. I then put the highbeam on again and the same thing happend again. So after I was able to drive again I continued back on my route, but right as soon as I exited the freeway all the warning lights came back on and acted as mentioned above again. I finally made it home safely and parked her on the drive way and I am going to check her out in the morning.

Do you guys have any ideas why this is happening?
Please Help

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a wire harness rub somewhere would be my first guess. I start following the high beam wiring and see what can be found.

You may also look into a new turn signal/high/low and beam/wiper control switch.

Probably a bare wire in the column coming from the ignition switch. Look in the area of the column tilt hinge.

As mentioned look at the column area where the control for the high beams goes.

IIRC, the 03's had a harness rub right behind the alternator.

I do not know if this is a player, but you never know!

You might just want to drop the edge and see if it repeats itself. I have heard many strange things happening with the edge.

I looked and looked but couldn't find anything. I will take a look at the column tomorrow. but this morning I started her up and everything seems to be ok. but I will continue to diagnose until I find out the problem.

thanks again everyone for your help

next time the problem happens again I will drop the edge and see if that might be the problem.
