I know, I know - just when you think there couldn't possibly be any more questions regarding the LBZ MP install, I have couple post-install to make sure things are a-ok.

The MP is tilted slightly from level toward the driver side as I left about 1/16" gap between the EGR cooler hose and the seam on the MP even after grinding it down as much as possible without compromising the integrity of the seam. I need to confirm in the morning that hood clearance (GMC) is not an issue.

With this, the bolt that holds the resonator to the front mount is not long enough on the new MP. It is about 1/2"-3/4" too short to fit in the grommet on the resonator - normal?

Also, is it me or is the wiring loom that was "slightly" relocated a tight fit between the MP and the steel coolant line from the thermostat housing? I placed heater hose around the loom in these area to prevent chafing - anyone else notice this also? There was no more slack to be found unless I am missing something.

It was getting dark as I mated the MP to the turbo and wondered if there is any possibilty of a misalignment even though the clamp tightened no problem and I could rotate the MP slightly about the turbo connection just before I tightened the clamp securely. This rotation was without any play fore and aft or up and down. The MP was secure and did not budge upon securing the clamp.

Even though this horse has been beaten to death, I appreciate your input.

. . .
The MP is tilted slightly from level toward the driver side as I left about 1/16" gap between the EGR cooler hose and the seam on the MP even after grinding it down as much as possible without compromising the integrity of the seam. That's exactly what I did. I need to confirm in the morning that hood clearance (GMC) is not an issue. Mine is a Chevy, but mine doesn't seem to even be making an indentation in the hood insulation. GMC is different, of course.

With this, the bolt that holds the resonator to the front mount is not long enough on the new MP. It is about 1/2"-3/4" too short to fit in the grommet on the resonator - normal? My resonator is tilted down on the driver's side, and down towards the front, and this way the front bolt fits. I notice that the bolt is slightly angled in the resonator hole. So, my resonator is a little cockeyed.

Also, is it me or is the wiring loom that was "slightly" relocated a tight fit between the MP and the steel coolant line from the thermostat housing? I placed heater hose around the loom in these area to prevent chafing - anyone else notice this also? There was no more slack to be found unless I am missing something. I remember rerouting a wire, and things being very tight. I think I just left it tight because I don't think I could get more slack, or maybe I could get just a little. Sorry, I don't remember!!

I think if it isn't seated properly, it'll be obvious when you start it up. Mine seated, but I had a very hard time getting it to seat because there was no extra room to work with. Your description sounds like you got it right (rotation w/out play, no up/down, etc.). It helped to get the clamp set just snug enough so the MP could slip in and want to stay in place (in the groove).

Even though this horse has been beaten to death, I appreciate your input.

Did you start it up? Or still need to hook up to the air cleaner?
