Just bought an '01 Dmax 2wd. It has a 6" RCD lift with 315/17/26 tires. I just found out via the forum here, that the build sheet shows a 3.73 axle ratio. With the 315's that equates to a 3.29 ratio. I have a 5000lb travel trailer plus gear and 5 bodies, will I be able to pull the grades between Clear Lake, CA and Ft Bragg without having the wife and kids out pushing? Keeping mind, I'm transitioning out of a '99 6.5L with limited towing power.

If I drop to a 32" tire such as a 265, the ratio is 3.5 but the tires would look like go cart tires under that lift! I am planning on putting in 2" blocks instead of the 4" and dialing down the torsion bars some.

How much to put in 4.10's?

Any thoughts on this situation from those of you that tow with larger tires?

thanks

With only a 5000lb trailer and 4-5 bodies you won't notice a difference from running empty.
I would not even consider smaller tires much less re- gearing.
