Gruber 07-11-2005, 02:20 PM I just recently bought the J/A for mine. I was told this by John@dps in the valley. I asked him the same question. He said: "I like the Juice better because it allows you to
make your own choices on defueling shifts and other things while the Banks is set and you don't have any choices. It also has the display and if you ever want to build your trans it stacks well with other programmers" He also went on to say "he never had anyone in to replace their Edge with a Banks but he has had people in to replace their Banks with an Edge." I bought mine for extra power towing and have no immeadiate plans to drag race or sled pull. I leave it in level 3 empty and level 2 towing. It is way faster in both modes.........just my .02
ACE21 07-11-2005, 02:35 PM do these power adders really do add the horsepower that they claim to add.?
ratlover 07-11-2005, 02:45 PM Yes but they rate them different. Edge rates thiers the same as most other manufactrers. That is peak to peak. If edge says 100 hp gain if you take a stock truck with 300 hp at the crank and it dynos at 250 when you put an edge box you will end up with a 350 hp to the rear wheels. Banks makes thier numbers a tad bit missleading on purpose IMO. Its marketing. With a stock allison you are limited by its holding power so just about all the boxes will make the same power. Its how it makes the power, additional features, customer service, ect that makes one better than the other. its easy to make power.......
Gruber 07-11-2005, 02:47 PM Here's an example: Cuesta Grade highway 101 N San Luis Obispo to Paso Robles. Going to Lake Naciemiento, the camper is on and the boat attached. Without Edge 53 mph in third gear around 3200rpm. With Edge level 2 63 mph 4th gear 1300 egt not on the floor with the throttle since I was trying to hold the egts at that level. Empty on the freeway punch it in level 3 at 70mph (too fast to down shift) hit 85mph in 2-3 secs. It's way faster with the Edge. I'll never go back to stock!
ACE21 07-11-2005, 02:58 PM I pull once in a while 8000#'s and do alot of dirt play with dirtbikes, quads etc. I have no problems with pulling the toys but I want more speed 1/4mile time.
ACE21 07-11-2005, 03:02 PM Where can I get the Banks or the edge system for the lowest price?
Gruber 07-11-2005, 03:03 PM In that case I forsee a tranny upgrade in your near future. Also if you wanna drag race from my understanding there a better programmers than the Edge for that sport. On edit I say that since the Edge alone will do in the tranny with boosted launches. There are plenty of guys that race in So-Cal like McRat and Trippin look at their sigs and see what they are running. Take a look at Ratlover's.
ACE21 07-11-2005, 03:15 PM how about it McRat and Trippin, Ratlovers
any advice in making my 2003 D-Max alot quicker

ratlover 07-11-2005, 03:19 PM Take a look at any of the supporting vendors. They should be able to hook you up. The question is do you want to run with most mustangs or do you want to kill most corvettes? :muahaha: That alters what chip to buy;)
ratlover 07-11-2005, 03:21 PM TTS Xtreme:ro)
My sig has gotten me into the 11's and TTS programing is on the fastest Duramaxs currently.
Just an Xtreme should put you close to a 13 flat plus or minus a 1/2 a second.
ratlover 07-11-2005, 03:23 PM I see your in sunny CA. Probably worth the trip to inglewood transmissions. Talk to Mike L., either pm him or his # is in his sig. 310 674 4400
ACE21 07-11-2005, 03:44 PM Ratlover,
I think u da man to talk too.
I want to kill most corvettes.
is that possible with a 2500HD ????
ratlover 07-11-2005, 03:58 PM Most vettes seem to run around a 13 flat. I'm around a 13 flat on fuel. On N2O:devilfing c ya later Mr Sports car hello close to 12 flat ):h
Sounds like your on the top of the slippery slope:eek:
You need 1 trans, one lift pump set up, deccent shocks, a TTS Xtreme, and be 1/2 crazy. Add a N2O set up and watch out!!! :ro)
First order of buisness if you wanto play with the big boys is a trans upgrade. Like I said talk to Mike L. on that one. Trans is the biggest cost, if you dont mind doing that then let the fun begin. Without a trans you could probably get her into the mid low 14's I would bet.
ACE21 07-11-2005, 04:08 PM I will get the TTS Power System. as far as the TTS Power system. (single or swtchable)?
the TTs power system should get me going in the right directions?
I'll call Mike L. for the Trany upgrade.
and as far as the N20 upgrade any recomendations ?

ratlover 07-11-2005, 04:36 PM Talk to super diesel or ibmaxin. They can get you set up. I am running his noids. Alot easier than peicing everything together. I persoanly prefer a 2 stage system but thats just me. super diesel is good about setting you up with what ever you may want.
Switchable is were its at.
Mike L can set you up with the TTS programing stuff too. If interested he would probably do the install if you were looking for a shop to do that.
ratlover 07-11-2005, 04:38 PM Also for fear of being a cheer leader and pushing tts on you, you may want to do a search on PPE and the quad/juice stack. Thats also fairly popular programing. I'm a bit biased though and believe TTS has the best out there right now.
jordandiesel_05 08-23-2005, 06:24 PM go with the edge the banks make your power really sketchy and adds dead spots to the power band
gottadmax 08-23-2005, 10:39 PM This is my first post and i just got my dmax, its an 03 and i have a buddy with a quadzilla box 215hp or whatever, but anyways someone keeps telling me that you can put 2 boxes on a dmax is this true? and does anyone else run the quadzilla box? Just lookin for the general info, what mods will give me the most power?? well thanks and im ready to learn!!
Hired Gun 08-24-2005, 08:01 AM Unless you are ready for a tranny upgrade, play in a smaller area. Not to put a damper on you, but trust me, if you want to run hard, then a good tranny set up will allow you to put the power down with little worry.
Scotty Seelen 08-24-2005, 11:20 AM go with the edge the banks make your power really sketchy and adds dead spots to the power band
Huh?
Burnin Mad Max 08-24-2005, 01:35 PM This is my first post and i just got my dmax, its an 03 and i have a buddy with a quadzilla box 215hp or whatever, but anyways someone keeps telling me that you can put 2 boxes on a dmax is this true? and does anyone else run the quadzilla box? To answer your question yes you can stack programmers. If you use the search function you'll find countless threads on this and most all of the questions you'll need to ask. Since your new here Its a good idea to add your specs to your sig' so people can better understand what year, model you have. Welcome to the Diesel Place:welcome2: A word of warning the power adders are as addictive as this site can be. :ro)
