: Diamond Eye Turbo-back System With Added Resonator?

Greetings All,

I've got an older '95 F350 7.3L Powerstroke Crew that needs an exhaust system, and I'm told that I can dispose of the existing (OEM) catalytic converter and install a complete (T-409 stainless steel) Diamond Eye brand turbo-back dual exhaust system. I've also heard tell of an option for this same system using an added resonator in front of the supplied muffler for additional (above average) noise reduction. So my questions are as follows:

1) Is the Diamond Eye (K4308S stainless steel) system a decent system by industry standards?

2) What is the functional difference between a 'muffler' and a 'resonator' (I always thought they were essentially the same thing)?

3) Does the above cited 'resonator + muffler' arrangement make any sense (i.e., will it alter performance in any significant way)? Would I be better off to simply omit the added resonator and stick with a single (standard) muffler?

4) What about overall tone or sound of the two systems? Will the added resonator take away too much of the rumble?

Any opinions or feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx All!

I would think both the muffler and resonator wouldn't take away any rumble, but would take away turbo whistle.

Wow dude lots of questions. AnywYs diamond eye makes
good quality stuff and they stand behind their product. I have delt with them before and they are awesome.
Resonator and muffler same thing technically it's not right but they call them resonators because they are straight thru design

I will only run this exhaust because I tow I love the rumble and anything to loud drives u a little nuts towing
heavy for a long distance especially if the trailer causes the
sound to bounce back.
It will be louder then stock but sound really good

don't worry you can't
go wrong with DE

Diamond Eye exhausts are very good quality. I have their 3" downpipe and 4" exhaust with resonator and muffler. It is the first exhaust I have ever been truly happy with. No drone whatsoever and it still sounds great and has plenty of whistle.
