Extemporaneous

Greetings All,
I've got an older '95 F350 7.3L Powerstroke Crew that needs an exhaust system, and I'm told that I can dispose of the existing (OEM) catalytic converter and install a complete (T-409 stainless steel) Diamond Eye brand turbo-back dual exhaust system. I've also heard tell of an option for this same system using an added resonator in front of the supplied muffler for additional (above average) noise reduction. So my questions are as follows:
1) Is the Diamond Eye (K4308S stainless steel) system a decent system by industry standards?
2) What is the functional difference between a 'muffler' and a 'resonator' (I always thought they were essentially the same thing)?
3) Does the above cited 'resonator + muffler' arrangement make any sense (i.e., will it alter performance in any significant way)? Would I be better off to simply omit the added resonator and stick with a single (standard) muffler?
4) What about overall tone or sound of the two systems? Will the added resonator take away too much of the rumble?
Any opinions or feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx All!
